Another long time has passed

Wow! A lot of time has passed again! Let's see...L and C are both, you guessed it, sick! L just has a stuffy nose...pollen. C has been throwing up again to go along with her runny, yucky nose. Lovely! We'll be going to the doctor tomorrow rather than the second session of my new Beth Moore Bible study at church.

  • C's b'day party went so well. The cake was adorable! My dear friend made it, and man, it was delicious as usual! (In fact, my kids have never had a cake made by anyone but my buddy. She should seriously go into business) L was the most gracious almost 4-year-old big brother I have ever seen. He was so into her getting presents and all the attention being on her. I was truly amazed. That boy is awesome! C thoroughly enjoyed every minute of her day(s). In fact, she told me last night, "Mommy, I really like my burfday." I said, "Oh, I know, I had fun at your birthday, too." She replied, "No, Mommy, I really like my burfday right now."
  • She tried to use the bathroom in the yard like L today...Maw looked at her just after she pulled her diaper 1/2 way off and was trying to do her thing...unfortunatly it's just not as easy for girls--a fact that really aggravated her!
  • L is so extremely excited about T-ball, but that sweet spirit of his is causing him to not want to "beat" his buddy Harrison's team. Lucky for both boys, this is totally instructional...no scores, no winners, no losers!
  • C told me that she was "stick" tonight b/c she had a "ladybug" in her tummy (just after a projectile vomiting episode). Roto virus? Strep? What is this stuff?!?
  • I felt like a horrible mommy all weekend...all over the kids with no patience whatsoever. I really am praying for patience and a realization that my goals aren't exactly what God has in mind for me right now. God wants them to be my priority, not my crazy to-do list.
  • Picnic in the park on Monday and then dinner on our back deck last night made all of us feel better...until poor C had an upset tummy! Oh, boy! I sure am hoping that our wonderful docs can figure this out tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to my Princess!!

Yes, that's right...my C is 2 today! Where does the time go??? I just thank God every day for my two precious angels and my wonderful man. What a blessing. Happy birthday, C! Mommy loves you...

Now, I'm off to wrap her gifts that she'll open tonight. We'll save some for her party on Saturday!

Busy, busy, busy

Well, we spent most of today in the car. Here's the run-down:
  • We (and by we I mean me and L and C) left home at 8:50, drove to Hubby's grandparents to pick up his granddad for physical therapy. (Arrival time: 9:50).
  • Next we drove to the therapist's office (Arrival time: 10:20) and dropped GP off. Then I took the kiddos to the tiny, tiny town's Dollar General, where L and C wanted everything they saw and managed to turn the shopping cart over on themselves (yes...I was standing right there when they did it...buckles, strapped in, it didn't matter--those two were so rowdy that buggy was going down), but they were OK (scared me half-t0-death, but seriously, no one was really even phased). We made it out of Dollar General for $27.61 and managed to only get 1 thing each for the kids, and the rest things we actually needed for home or the lake (think, baskets and bins for storage).
  • We were going to fill up our car with gas, but when I pulled in to the second station without pay at the pump, I figured we'd be fine until we got home. NO WAY was I going to unbuckle and rebuckle the troops again!
  • Arrived back at the office at 11:30 to wait on GP. Thank goodness for DVD players in the car. L and C watched The Little Mermaid. C fell asleep and L was pretty interested in the movie, so that was a little bit of time for me to return phone calls for work.
  • GP finished with PT at 12:10, so we headed back to his house.
  • Mimi bought us Chick-fil-A for lunch at their house...YUM! L and C played with GP and Mimi respectively for a while. Mimi said that C answered a question she asked her with, "I doubt it, Mimi." I'm telling you, that girl is way beyond her almost-2 years (2 on Wednesday!!!). L just loves playing with GP. His Dollar General dart gun ($1.50) only lasted about 6 rounds of shooting, but he didn't care. He just loved having GP all to himself.
  • Departed Mimi and GP's at 2:30.
  • Arrived to check mail for work at 3:00
  • Arrived home with L asleep at 3:35
  • L continued his nap, C screamed in her bed until 4:00
  • Had to get kiddos back in car at 5:10 to make it to drop off our car at the dealership to get oil change/tire rotation before 6
  • Waited on Hubby at dealership until 6:30.
  • Hubby decided he needed a haircut, and I decided that I'd grab the groceries we needed while he got his hair cut as Publix was right next door. Hubby was pleasantly surprised at how well our little man (who had his first Pre-T-Ball practice yesterday and did GREAT!) was behaved while his daddy got a haircut. L sat in the chair by his daddy and looked at the pictures in a magazine calling out letters he recognized! (He can write his name almost by himself now, too!)
  • We ran into one of hubby's h/s friend's moms in Publix...departed Publix at 7:20
  • Ate dinner at Zaxby's...
  • Arrived home at 8:18...with hubby exhausted and short on patience...
  • Kids were bathed (courtesy of a quick showering off), C's hair was blown dry, and she was in bed by 9:10.
  • L was in bed by 9:35...Ahh...a quiet house.
Even though I'm so behind in my work after moving the office to my basement and I have a tremendous amount of things to do here at home before our weekend company and C's 2nd b-day party...I'm going to go finish my book In An Instant by Lee and Bob Woodruff in bed! Yay!
