We have had a wonderfully busy, completely exhausting week...and I am further reminded how much I LOVE OUR CHURCH FAMILY! This church is truly after God's plan and His Will is sought. The church puts such emphasis on family and how important it is. Our youth and children's ministries are completely awesome!!! Nothing is done half way, and we go all out for them...Afterall, their salvation is worth it! People volunteer countless hours and count it a blessing and a privilege...and would do it all over again if necessary. That's why I love our church.
As I type this, I'm reflecting on the past week. VBS week is over...I was in charge of the "Prairie Dogs" at our Avalanche Ranch Vacation Bible School this week. The kicker...it's from 6:00 until 8:30. The Prairie Dogs are ready to go to bed by 7:45, and they should be as they are only 3 and 4! I won't even get into the nursery area where my baby girl is! But, all in all, it was great. Things ran smoothly overall, and all 33 of our kiddos seemed to have a great time (of course we had the normal crying kiddos that would be expected from this age, but we rolled with it).
On a side note, I think that my L is going to have an adjustment period to me teaching his age group. We had such a crazy week, not eating at home after breakfast, getting home well after nine every night, and a total lack of routine contributed to his rotten at times behavior. I am comforted by the fact that the other workers in the area experienced the exact same thing...every one of us! We talked to the children's director, and now, we think that next year, this age will be during the day. C, has screamed and cried every night at drop-off, too, which is probably related to the same thing L's troubles have been caused by...Not enough routine, not enough Mommy time, too much happening.
Overall, though, I love VBS. So many young lives are changed during these intense, fun weeks every summer. It's a privilige to serve Christ in this manner. I remember as a child LOVING VBS weeks...LOVING THEM! So, I hope that all of my kiddos memories of VBS are wonderful...not any of the stressful moments we had this year...
