On the downhill slope

Ok, can I just say that L is approaching his 4th birthday way too fast? Only about 10 more days of being three...and all the sudden I'm noticing he's growing up at break-neck speed...I mean he could go to a real full-fledged, lottery funded (in Georgia, Thank you Zell Miller), all day, everyday Pre-K if I would let him next year! Time needs to SLOW DOWN already! He's also really learning in his pre-school now...letter names, letter sounds, rhymes! Way to go Ms. S and Ms. E! I'm wanting to supplement his next year with some of my former teacher knowledge (for fun for me to get those creative teaching energies out), so I'm excited for him, too. It's such a bittersweet feeling watching your firstborn baby grow into a charming little boy.

C is chock-full of personality, as I've shared before. Tonight, we witnessed yet another example. We drove to a near-by town to watch my nephew (4 months younger than L) play a soccer game. After chasing C off the field several times during the game, she was convinced she really should be part of the whole team spirit thing. (She feels the same at L's t-ball games, as well, and usually an ugly fit manifests before the game ends as she wants her turn to hit and run the bases.) Anyway, at the end of the game, we start looking for C who has escaped in a matter of seconds...and find her in the line of my nephew's teammates going to hi-5 the other team. We hear her telling them all, "Good game!" Oh, yeah...that's my girl!
