Well, here it is the night before preschool for my little man. I couldn't be happier with his teacher. I actually taught her granddaughter in first grade when I was pregnant with my little L. Next week my C starts school, too. Oh, can it be that my babies are getting so big. I want another one!!! Let's start over with just one more to savor the baby-ness. Hubby says no way, but I say I still hear the call.
Yesterday while getting ready to leave for our church's first worship service, L ran up into his room. I called up to him to come downstairs and he tells me, "Just a minute, Mommy. I've got to get my offering. " I arrive in his room to find him trying to empty out the entire contents of his baseball bank (spending money bank). I said, "Buddy, remember, you've already got your offering in your pocket. (I had given him a dollar earlier)." He answered, "Mommy, I want to give all of this to Jesus b/c he loves me so much." I was touched at his generosity. Such a tenderhearted guy. Come to find out, the little man gave some, not all. But his four-year-old heart was in the right place.
After church in the grocery, the kiddos and I were picking out a card for Mimi's b'day party we were hosting last night when Z and his brother arrived in from their business trip in Phoenix. He spotted a SNL card with Rosanne Rosannadanna on it. He loved it. He opened it and it talked, which he loved even more. He became convinced his Nana needed it, and so it went home with us. He didn't understand the words she said, (constipated, depressed, etc.) but he thought her voice was so funny. He told me it was going to crack his Nana up, and he was right. What he didn't know was how much she needed that love yesterday. He has a heart for others. She took him to his make-up swim lesson yesterday. She said that the whole way there he kept talking about the card. He asked, "Nana, did that crack you up?" "Yes, it did." "Let's listen again so we can crack up together." Insert Gilda Radner's voice and L and Nana's cracking up laughter. Then, he'd say, "Nana, will everyone else crack up tonight when they hear it?" "I bet they will, buddy." "Ok, let's let them hear it, OK?"Even when his sassy mouth gets him in SOOO much trouble lately
He also told me yesterday that he thinks we need another baby sister at our house. We were eating our lunch when he mentioned this to me. I turned to C and asked her if she thought we should get another baby. After thinking for a miunte, she kindly says, "Ummm, no thanks. I'm good. Thank you though."
This morning, Cc woke up and was in her bed talking and talking. I went up there, she was telling her baby, "Don't steal all the bunny's kisses, Baby. That's not berry nice."
Reminder: tell about C's teahers.
